A
wonderland of red rock hoodoos, fins, mazes, and spires against
an azure blue sky make Bryce Canyon a unique place to visit and
explore. Moonlight, sunrise, sunset, and even rain and snow create
many moods over the canyon amphitheaters. Effects of water and
wind washing away the edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau over time
have left what the Paiute Indians have described as "red rocks
standing like men in a bowl-shaped recess."
