The hottest spot in North America and the harshest of the desert environments, Death Valley National Park is located on the southern California, Nevada border. It is home to over 900 kinds of plants and numerous animals, from the most delicate to those amongst the hardiest. Park doers can find colorful displays of spring wild flowers, wind-swept sand dunes, mines, and countless historical sites.
