This new National Park, established to preserve a complete desert ecosystem, located just inside Nevada's eastern boarder is representative of the vast landscape between the Sierra Nevada and Rocky Mountains. A land of alternate pitched peaks and large valleys, that run generally in a north and south line , where all rivers flow inland. From the high valleys to the depths of Lehman Cave and to the groves of Bristlecone Pines on the slopes of Mt. Wheeler this is quite a unique environment made up of several climate zones to explore.

Visit the Great Basin National Park Forum to ask questions about the park.
