This new park lies in the vast Sonora Desert of Arizona, a land that far surpasses other North American deserts in lushness and variety of life, despite its extreme heat and dryness. One of the park's features, the saguaro cactus, is known as the monarch of the Sonora Desert and the symbol of the American Southwest.

Visit the Saguaro National Park Forum to ask questions about the park.
